Prayer Ministry

At Hammond Street Congregational, our prayer ministry is a vital part of our Bangor church family. The ministry consists of a dedicated Prayer Circle, a group of volunteers who devote their time to lifting up the prayers for those both in and out of our church family upon request. The Prayer Circle is committed to the power of prayer and assisting those who need help. We ensure confidentiality, sharing only the details permitted by those requesting prayer.

What We Pray For

We believe in the transformative power of prayer for every challenge one might face in life and that God’s love can guide and heal. We trust in the ability of prayer to offer peace, strength, and guidance to those who request it. Requests may come for various reasons, including:

The Circle extends compassion, care, and sympathy to all situations. Prayer Circle volunteers also occasionally send cards to celebrate important milestones or offer encouragement, reminding people they are not alone or forgotten.

How to Make a Prayer Request

If you or someone you know would like to make a prayer request, please reach out! You can easily submit a prayer request online through our prayer request form, or in person, by contacting the Pastor or a member of the Prayer Circle directly. We welcome all prayers for yourself and others.

Join the Prayer Circle

Each person in the Circle commits to praying in their own way and on their own time. On occasion, we unite in prayer on an agreed date and time, knowing that collective prayer strengthens our purpose and deepens our connection to God and to each other. If you feel called to join our prayer ministry, please contact the church office to learn how to get involved. There is always room for another voice in this important work!
