At Hammond Street Congregational Church, we believe that Christian education lays the foundation for a life of faith, love, and service. From our youngest children to those preparing for confirmation, we are committed to nurturing a love for God and His Word.
The Faith Formation team organizes the curriculum and finds teachers for Sunday School, plans Rally Day, organizes parties on Halloween, Easter, and Breakfast with Santa, arranges a confirmation class for youth, and organizes many other family events throughout the year.
Serving with this committee is an invaluable experience, and our program thrives because of its dedicated volunteers. Whether you love teaching, organizing events, or working behind the scenes, there’s a place for you to serve.
Being a Sunday School teacher is a rewarding experience. Sunday School teachers are asked to teach about once a month during worship service. The Faith Formation Team provides the curriculum.
Classes for grades 3-5 and 6-12 meet every Sunday during service except in the summer. Bring your child on Sunday, and they will be welcomed to class with the other children.

Children will learn Bible stories that teach God’s love and truth, and they’ll bring Scripture to life through crafts, songs, and hands-on activities. Along the way, they’ll build friendships in a caring, Christ-centered environment where they feel known and welcomed. We also focus on kindness, respect, and growing faith in everyday life, so kids leave with more than a lesson. They leave with encouragement, confidence, and a sense that church is a place they belong.
