Church Officers & Service Positions

Historian

The Historian, an elected volunteer, keeps records of the ongoing activities of the church. A fireproof file is maintained in the office area for recent records. There are scrapbooks dating back more than a hundred years available at the Bangor Public Library.

Clerk

The Clerk is responsible for keeping and distributing the minutes of the meetings of the Church Council, the Executive Committee, the Annual Meeting, and of any special meetings. In addition, the Clerk maintains an annual record of those joining the church, transfers, deaths, weddings, and christenings to report in the Annual Report.

Moderator

The Moderator, elected for a two-year term, serves as the church’s presiding lay officer. They lead Church Council, Executive Committee, Annual Meetings, and any special meetings, working closely with the pastor to ensure smooth church administration and staff alignment with member expectations. A highlight of this role is connecting with all HSCC committee members.

Treasurer

HSCC’s Treasurer manages donations, income, and expenses, maintaining accurate transaction records and providing donors with biannual summaries. They assist Trustees with budget preparation, provide monthly financial statements, and train Collectors for Sunday collection record-keeping.

Hospitality Coordinators

A highlight of Sunday service at HSCC is post-service fellowship in the vestry, with coffee and snacks provided by volunteers. The Hospitality Coordinator ensures supplies are stocked, oversees setup and cleanup, and trains volunteers on procedures for handling leftovers.

Auditor

The Auditor is elected at the Annual Meeting to review the Treasurer’s records and to report the results of the review to the Board of Trustees.
